A screening and review of short films jointly produced by students from four universities (SCI-Arc, Hosei University, Keio University-SFC and the University of Tokyo) will be held at the Intermediatheque.
For two weeks from May 22 to June 5, 38 students from 4 universities will work jointly on the production of short films on the subject of “Thermodynamic Tokyo.” Tokyo has been described as a metabolizing, energetic city that surges with movement and change. The issue is to understand the city’s dynamism and flux of energy, to picture on film such thermic, fluid and non-physical properties, and to connect them with a new form of spatial expression. 5 locations in Tokyo (Shiodome, Ueno, Asakusa, Shinjuku, Marunouchi) being selected, students divided into five groups are to make a short film (between 3 and 5 minutes long) on each area. The screening will be followed by a review by guest critics and academic supervisors.
