概要

The realm of Nature is abundant in astonishing forms. Above all, the world of minerals is remarkable for its diversity. Schorl belongs to the tourmaline group, and is black-colored because it contains iron. It is mainly formed in granite. As it polarizes when subjected to heat or pressure, it is commonly called “electric stone” in Japanese. Among the tourmaline group, the species which contain lithium bear diverse and beautiful colors, and they are prized as precious stones.
