This micromollusc is a species of Cochlespira (Mollusca: Gastropoda). Shells attain various sizes from species to species. The largest species, Tridacna gigas, reaches more than 1m, while the smallest group, the family Omalogyridae, is 0.5mm in maximum diameter. Small species below 1cm are very common. Shells smaller than 4mm are conventionally called “micromolluscs.”
