Small-Scale Models of Domesticated Cattle
1883-1892 / Max Landsberg in Berlin (Germany) / Color on plaster / Formerly a collection of the Department of Zootomy, Tokyo Imperial University and of the Department of Zootomy (Specimen Room), The University of Tokyo / UMUT
概要
Plaster models of cattle reduced on a 1:6 scale. The models are scale-downed from existing individuals domesticated in The University of Veterinary Medicine in Berlin. Because the education of zoology and animal husbandry in Japan was influenced by Germany, these high-quality animal models for education were introduced from Berlin in the Meiji Era. The three breeds of Jersey, Shorthorn and Simmenthal can be morphologically compared.
